In God's eyes he was like a tender green shoot, sprouting from a root in dry and sterile ground. But in our eyes there was no attractiveness at all, nothing to make us want him.... But he was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace; he was lashed--and we were healed!... He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he never said a word. He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he stood silent before the ones condemning him (Isaiah 53:2,5,7).

**Takeaway: In God's eyes he was like a tender green shoot, sprouting from a root in dry and sterile ground.

WHEN GUILT COMES
4/9

There is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins.... Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way (Wcclesiastes 7:20; Psalm 139:23-24, NASB).

**Takeaway: I admitted all my sins to you, Lord. All my guilt is gone.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us (Psalm 103:1,3,11-12, NASB)

**Takeaway: As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin (James 1:13-15,NASB)

Lord, who may go and find refuge and shelter in your tabernacle up on your holy hill? Anyone who leads a blameless life and is truly sincere. Anyone who refuses to slander others, does not listen to gossip, never harms his neighbor, speaks out against sin, criticizes those committing it, commends the faithful followers of the Lord, keeps a promise even if it ruins him, does not crush his debtors with high interest rates, and refuses to testify against the innocent despite the bribes offered him--such a man shall stand firm forever (Psalm 15).

My life is no longer than my hand! My whole lifetime is but a moment to you. Proud man! Frail as breath! A shadow! And all his busy rushing ends in nothing. He heaps up riches for someone else to spend. And so, Lord, my only hope is in you.... For I am your guest. I am a traveler passing through the earth, as all my fathers were.... Come unto me and I will give you rest--all of you that work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.... A thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.... So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.... Establish thou the work of our hands (Psalm 90:2,4,12,17, KJV).

**Takeaway: A thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase; this is also vanity. When goods increase... what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?... As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour.... Follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Ecclesiastes 5:10-11,15: Matthew 16:24-26, KJV).

**Takeaway: What is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.... Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.... There shall be a time of anguish... greater than any previous suffering.... It will not be understood until the end times, when travel and education shall be vastly increased!... When you follow your own wrong inclinations... there will be wrong doctrine, envy, murder, drundenness, wild parties and all that sort of thing.... Let us follow the Holy Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Then we won't need to look for honors and popularity, which lead to jealousy and hard feelings (Daniel 12:1,4; Galatians 5:19-21,25-26).

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister.... If ye love me, keep my commandments.... Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled (Mark 10:31,43-45; John 14:15,27, KJV).
